The Ondo State University of Medical Science will commence
academic activities in October, 2015, starting with the
admission of Direct Entry students while students will be
admitted into 100 level through the Unified Tertiary
Matriculation Examination in 2016.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dayo Adeyanju, said
this on Monday in an interview with newsmen in Akure, the
state capital.
Adeyanju said arrangements had been concluded for the
beginning of academic activities in the specialised
institution.
He explained that the government had provided needed
equipment for the school, for the use of the students while
the Medical Village in Ondo, which comprised different
specialised hospitals, would be specifically used as the
students' teaching hospital.
The commissioner added, "We are adequately ready for the
academic business in the Ondo State University of Medical
Science. The admitted Direct Entry students will
automatically start from 200 Level. The students will start
attending classes in October while the students to 100 level
will be admitted through UTME next year.
"The equipment are ready, the administrative staff are
already on the ground and have started working on the
smooth take-off. I am very sure there will not be any
problem as far as the take-off of the school is concerned .
